Very nice and useful. Will share it now with attendees at the Prov Waste Management Officers Forum .
Hi Valentino! I was wondering if I could use just a few seconds of this video of yours for a school project about plastic pollution? Literally just a few seconds.
gabilovely go for it. Keep me in the loop though.
Valentino Ristevski thank you very much!! I'll send you the link of the video where I use just a tiny fraction of your beautiful animation! Your name will be there as the owner of the footage of course! Thanks again! 😊😊😊😊😊
Great work! How many hours take the composing?
This video helped me a lot with my homework.
HOW RECYCLING DOES DEFINITELY NOT HELP OUR PLANET: 1. Contamination If there are impurities or toxins on the original material, like lead, they’ll usually make it through the recycling process and end up buried in the new product, like say, a soda can. Have a nice day 2.hundreds of buildings in Taiwan made from recycled steel have been giving people gamma radiation poisoning. '' be sure to recycle" 3.The recycling process produces pollutants In 2009 there were about 179,000 waste collection vehicles on the road. The exhaust fromf those vehicles contains over three dozen airborne toxins. '' good ole curb collection'' 4.One recycling plant in Washington state produces more toxic emissions than any other factory the next three biggest polluters in the area ae also recycling plants. ''saving the planet" 5. When paper is recycled, it’s all mixed together into a pulp. That pulp is washed, cleaned, and then pressed into new paper sheets. During that process,, inks, cleaning chemicals, and dyes are filtered out into sludge. The sludge is then sent to a landfill, where it leaches dozens of toxic chemicals and heavy metals into groundwater. 'nice right?' '' matter cannot be created nor destroyed'' 6. There are about seven types of plastic that you’ll find in day to day life, and only two of them are recyclable. "' W T F " " O M G " 7. Plastic is a pretty tricky animal overall, but in all honesty, we just have no idea what to do with it. " It costs $4,000 US to recycle one ton of plastic " 8. oil is a pretty major pollutant. So it makes sense to try to recycle used oil right? Wrong.recycling oil creates even more toxic chemicals in the process. " really? " " yes really" 9. Aluminum ? Disappointingly recycled soda cans can’t give you the quality you need to build an airplane, or even to use in electronic circuits. Its just shit aluminum.. "" they never told us THAT " 10. More aluminum; The average American drinks 2.5 cans of soda per day. That’s about 778 million cans. If 100,000 cans are recycled every minute (they are), we’re still about 600 million cans short. And that’s just in one day So in only one years time, doing the math for you, 2,100,000,000 cans unrecycled...
Please give me the links to legal official investigations that I can use about all you wrote. tHANKS
Thank you. Getting the “How Recycling Helps our Planet and Why You Are F*cking Wrong about Recycling” book from my bookshelf...
#6 is bullsh*t. Plastic types #1-7 are recyclable.
Great video
This could be happening in america, but we're too busy protesting over stupid shit.
or engaging in mindless anti-Americanism
1,000th like!
Isn't this just replacing ground pollution for air pollution. Sure, not everything that gets thrown out is burned but burning anything releases hazardous molecules into the air, right?
Matt Helton at minute 2:21 he starts explaining and at min 2:29 he said that they would collect the bio gas to use as fuel
Watch it again.

How can we do it

Valentino Ristevski: Great video, it can really have a big effect on the values of people (especially because they get the sense that a lot of other people are already doing this). However, there was this constant theme of "creating jobs", when we already know that since the 90s, productivity has been completely decoupled from human labor; human labor is actually inverse to productivity in more and more fields. Human employment is becoming pretty much obsolete. The problem is not automation; that is natural; we need to change the economic paradigm. Just like we eliminated abject slavery due to mechanization, we need to eliminate wage slavery as a response to automation and computerization. Universal Basic Income seems to be inevitable, as an Oxford study shows that 46% of the US jobs will be eliminated by 2033, and that 40% of Australian jobs will be eliminated by 2025 due to automation. This applies to other developed countries as well. Note that there was "only" 25% unemployment during the Great Depression. Even in the case where you argue that repairing things might result in creating human-exclusive labor roles. An example: producing simple, molded chairs by machines from one durable material (which is light, and easy to recycle) is much less resource-, energy-, and labor-intensive than continuously producing and repairing elaborate wooden chairs - on the long run ;)
sztellanora But the system has created a lot of jobs in Sweden. 32 waste management plants are treating 99% of our garbage and garbage that we import from Norway, Italy, UK and Ireland. The recycling is of course possible thanks to machines and technology but there's still a lot of people working with the transportation, management etc. etc.
It already created them, and will not create more (the word "lot" is relative anyway). Say goodbye to the jobs in the transportation sector, as it will be automated in the following decade (self-driving cars and trucks already on the road). And one cannot say there are a lot of people working in management; it is typically a sector where relatively few people work, and you know that ;)
sztellanora What I do know is that it creates more jobs than simply not doing anything. Even if it only employs 10 people (which it don't) it's still better than 0.
Again, automation and computerization are destroying jobs faster than we can find out was of employing people. And I think you would agree that +10 jobs are less than -46% of all jobs ;)
sztellanora The debate about machines taking our jobs is a long and complicated debate.
В общем, мусор - это не такой уж и мусор!
Well if PARLIAMENT were to invest in the energy recovery system Sweden has, then we would recycle more. Instead, the government is just focusing on budget cuts and tax allowances for the rich...
And they still are doing it after your comment Our lazy government We need a new one who will actually try to do something
